Soulrift Nyx — Dagger Melee Blood Mechanic

Nyx is a quest unlock character in Soulrift, unlocked by completing the quest Greater Heights, with 80 HP. She is the dagger melee specialist with a Blood meter mechanic — the only character in the roster with a resource management system. Role: high-risk melee DPS, glass cannon with burst potential.

Kit overview

Nyx’s identity is the glass cannon dagger fighter with a Blood meter. Her kit requires active resource management: the Blood meter fills during combat and must be spent to access her full damage potential. The 80 HP pool is the lowest shared with Reviva — she dies to the same attacks that kill supports. The kit rewards skilled play and punishes passive play.

Key stat: 80 HP. This is shared with Reviva as the lowest in the game — Nyx survives by not getting hit, not by bulk.

Strengths

• Highest burst potential of any melee character when Blood meter is full.
• Dagger range and mobility for repositioning.
• Blood mechanic rewards aggressive play — the more you engage, the more damage you deal.
• No Prosthetic Arm allowed — 80 HP with −50% max HP would be 40 HP.

Weaknesses

• 80 HP is the glass in glass cannon. One mistake against high-damage mechanics is a wipe.
• Blood meter management requires active play — passive players will underperform.
• No inherent sustain in the kit.

Recommended accessories

First slot: Magic Mirror from Katan. Second slot: Badge of Vanguard (+10% melee damage). Third slot: Body Armor from Lazereth (+12% DR) — her 80 HP makes DR very efficient. Fourth slot: Flame Gauntlet from Ardale (33% burn on hit) for sustained damage. Fifth slot: Shock Slower from Cryogen (3× i-frames after a hit) for survivability windows.

Team comp role

Nyx is a specialist pick, not a default. She works best in coordinated groups where the team can cover for her low HP. Pair with Reviva or Clockwork for support. Do not bring Nyx to public lobbies without communication — her 80 HP requires the lobby to prioritize her survival.

What Nyx is not

Nyx is not Reviva. Despite sharing 80 HP, Nyx is a pure damage dealer with no support tools. She cannot heal, revive, or buff. She is also not Sunder — she has mobility tools but no bulk. Prosthetic Arm on Nyx is D-tier even as a joke because 80 minus 50% is 40.

Comparison to other melee

• Zephyr (110 HP, starter) — more HP and ranged slashes. Zephyr is the safer default melee.
• Sunder (125 HP, 1000 Souls) — bulk and burst. Sunder is the shop damage dealer.
• Raiden (110 HP, 4000 Souls) — similar mobility with grappling, higher HP, much later unlock.
