Soulrift Last Stand Mechanic Guide

Last Stand is a core Soulrift mechanic that activates when you are the last player alive in a round. Instead of dying when dealt a fatal blow, you survive with 1 HP and your moveset transforms into a more powerful version. This page explains the base mechanic. For character-specific interactions, see Special Last Stand Interactions. Hub: Guides.

How Last Stand triggers

Last Stand activates automatically when:

  1. You are the last player alive in the lobby
  2. You receive a fatal blow (damage that would reduce HP to 0)

Instead of dying, you:

  • Survive with 1 HP
  • Your moveset is replaced with a Last Stand version
  • Health regeneration is disabled
  • You may gain additional modifiers depending on your character

What changes during Last Stand

Moveset transformation

Every character has a unique Last Stand moveset that is more powerful than their normal kit. The exact changes vary by character:

  • Ricochet (Update 1.5 rework) — fire-rate specialist with modified Last Stand behavior
  • Reviva — gains increased movement speed during Last Stand
  • Each character’s Last Stand is documented on their individual page

Stat modifiers

  • HP is set to 1 (or a specific value for Special Last Stands)
  • Health regen is disabled
  • Some characters gain additional bonuses (check Special Last Stand Interactions)

Special Last Stands

Beyond the base mechanic, some character-boss combinations trigger Special Last Stands. These occur when:

  • The boss is at 25% HP or lower
  • You are using a specific character against that boss
  • You are the last player alive

Special Last Stands differ from regular Last Stands:

  • You recover to a set HP amount (not 1)
  • The boss recovers some HP
  • A unique soundtrack plays
  • A special cutscene may appear
  • Winning grants an achievement and unique skin

Last Stand strategy tips

  • Know your Last Stand moveset before you need it — practice in low-pressure fights
  • Support characters first: Reviva and Clockwork should stay alive, not trigger Last Stand
  • Special Last Stands are worth attempting if you have the right character for the boss
  • Supernova accessory (Nebula drop) explodes for 300 damage when you trigger Last Stand — coordinate with your lobby

Last Stand and accessories

Some accessories have special interactions with Last Stand:

  • Supernova (Nebula) — explodes on death/Last Stand for 300 damage
  • Accessory of Doom and Despair — disables Last Stand (intentionally)
  • Magic Mirror — faster Dash cooldown helps you avoid triggering Last Stand

Scripts and Last Stand

Scripts that claim to make you invincible (combat GUI) skip the learning process. Last Stand is part of Soulrift’s core loop — understanding it makes you a better player.
